synopsis
WJM-TV's Chuckles the Clown, while dressed as Peter Peanut, is "shelled"
by a rogue elephant at the circus. At first Mary is appalled by the
bad taste of Murray, Lou and Ted who joke about Chuckles' untimely death.
But during the classic funeral scene, Mary "chuckles" uncontrollably
before breaking down in tears. This Emmy-winning episode originally
aired on October 25, 1975, and it is ranked as the best episode of any
series in television history, according to TV Guide's List of The Top
100 Episodes. |
